PROJECT SHUJAA

WHY SPONSOR A CHILD?
It is the heart of Jesus who said: "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

Mark 10:14

Sponsoring a child is more than providing financial support. Sponsors will get to know their student, pray for them and their families and even continue to sponsor them through high school, college and beyond! This is what it means to go make disciples and fulfill the Great Commission!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SPONSOR A STUDENT?

To sponsor one student monthly (12 months a year) is $40 per month ($480 annually)

This includes tuition fees, two meals daily and basic medical support. Parents are responsible for the small cost of books and uniforms. Having an investment in their child's education creates a partnership with the school.

STUDENT SPONSORSHIP

WHAT IS PROJECT SHUJAA?

The Kibera slum in Nairobi is considered one of the largest of its kind in the world, roughly accommodating over 1.5 million people in one mile squared.

It is the home of New Hope Initiative’s primary school, New Hope Academy, that has cared for both the spiritual and practical needs of families and children for over 12 years. New Hope’s mission is to provide a path out of spiritual and physical poverty, bringing the hope and love of Jesus to the community through education, spiritual guidance, medical care and healthy, daily meals.

Shujaa (Swahili for “brave” or “courageous”) is a word that honors heroic acts to care for another physically and spiritually. Project Shujaa, started in 2024, seeks to provide sponsorship to every child in the primary school.
