KENYA | SHORT-TERM MISSION TRIP 2027

GENCITY & MYA
WHEN: JULY 8TH-JULY 19TH | COST: APPROXIMATELY $2750

Metro City Church is excited to return to Kenya as we continue our long-term partnership with Hope Church Kibera and New Hope Academy.

This is more than a mission trip—it is an opportunity to join God in His global mission through partnership, relationships, and support. At the center of everything we do is the hope of Jesus. We believe the greatest need in every community is knowing Christ, and we have the privilege of partnering with local believers who are faithfully sharing the Gospel, making disciples, and serving their communities.

Together, we will come alongside the local church, invest in students, encourage ministry leaders, and build relationships with families and communities. Our goal is not simply to visit Kenya or complete projects. Our goal is to build lasting relationships, strengthen ministry partnerships, encourage the local church, invest in the next generation, and support the work God is already doing through our Kenyan partners.

“For we are co-workers in God’s service…”

— 1 Corinthians 3:9

WHY KENYA?

For Metro City Church, Kenya is more than a destination—it is a relationship.

God has allowed us to build a meaningful partnership with Hope Church Kibera and New Hope Academy, along with the incredible pastors, teachers, leaders, and families who faithfully serve their communities every day.

What began as a missions connection has grown into a lasting friendship built on trust, shared faith, and a commitment to the mission of Jesus.

Year after year, we have had the privilege of walking alongside Kenyan pastors, church leaders, teachers, students, and families as they continue to make disciples and bring hope through the Gospel.

We believe the best ministry happens through relationships.

Hope Church Kibera and New Hope Academy are faithfully serving their communities. We do not come as experts or outsiders with all the answers. We come as brothers and sisters in Christ—to learn from one another, encourage one another, and serve alongside one another.

Through this partnership, we have seen God work through:

• The local church being strengthened and encouraged

• Pastors and leaders being supported in their ministry

• Students discovering their identity and purpose in Christ

• Young people being mentored and encouraged

• Families experiencing prayer and support

• Friendships growing deeper across cultures

When we travel to Kenya, we are not simply going to serve people—we are going to serve with people. We go because Jesus calls us to love one another, make disciples, and be part of His global Church.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

— Proverbs 27:17

ABOUT OUR PARTNERSHIP

Metro City Church has been privileged to partner with Hope Church Kibera and New Hope Academy through a shared vision of making disciples, strengthening the local church, and investing in the next generation.

These partnerships are built on trust, friendship, and a commitment to walk together in God’s mission.

HOPE CHURCH KIBERA

Hope Church Kibera is our church partner in Kenya. Through this relationship, we have the opportunity to encourage pastors, church leaders, and believers who are faithfully serving their community and sharing the hope of Jesus.

During our time with the church, we have opportunities to:

• Encourage pastors and ministry leaders

• Worship alongside Kenyan believers

• Pray with families and church members

• Participate in church ministry

• Build relationships with local believers

• Support discipleship and leadership development

Our desire is to remind our Kenyan brothers and sisters that they are not alone. We are honored to stand alongside them as co-laborers in the Gospel.

NEW HOPE ACADEMY

New Hope Academy is our school partner in Kenya, where we have the opportunity to invest in students and encourage the next generation.

A major focus of our time at the school is student mentorship—creating meaningful relationships where students are seen, valued, encouraged, and pointed toward their identity in Christ.

During our time at New Hope Academy, we have opportunities to:

• Mentor students

• Encourage young people in their faith

• Share biblical truth and life lessons

• Build relationships with students

• Support teachers and staff

• Encourage students to pursue their God-given purpose

We believe every student matters to God, and we have the privilege of reminding them that they are known, loved, and created with purpose.

ABOUT THE TRIP

The Kenya Mission Trip is designed for anyone who desires to grow in their relationship with Jesus while experiencing the joy of serving alongside believers from another culture.

This trip is built around relationship and partnership. Rather than arriving with our own agenda, we come alongside trusted ministry partners who faithfully serve their communities throughout the year.

We believe effective missions begin with humility—listening first, learning from others, and serving together.

Throughout the trip, we will have opportunities to:

• Build relationships with Kenyan pastors and leaders

• Mentor students at New Hope Academy

• Spend time with families• Serve alongside Hope Church Kibera

• Encourage ministry partners

• Visit families in their homes

• Participate in community outreach

• Pray, worship, and share life together

One of the most meaningful parts of our time in Kenya is visiting families in their homes. Through these visits, we have the opportunity to listen to stories, pray with families, encourage them, and remind them that they are seen and loved by God.

You do not need special ministry experience to participate. You simply need a willing heart, a desire to serve, and a willingness to follow where God leads.

OUR FOCUS:

PARTNERSHIPS | RELATIONSHIPS | SUPPORT

Everything we do in Kenya begins with Jesus and people.

We don’t travel to Kenya with the mindset that we are bringing something they do not have. We travel as brothers and sisters in Christ, coming alongside the Kenyan Church and school with humility, love, and a desire to serve.

Our goal is simple:

Encourage the local church. Invest in students. Build lasting relationships. Support God’s work through our partners.

PARTNERSHIP - We believe lasting Kingdom impact happens through long-term relationships.

Throughout the trip, we will serve alongside Kenyan pastors, teachers, church leaders, and volunteers. We will learn from their wisdom, celebrate what God is doing through their ministry, and continue building a partnership that extends beyond our time in Kenya.

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”  — Ephesians 4:3

RELATIONSHIPS - People are the purpose.

Some of the most meaningful ministry moments happen through simple conversations, shared meals, home visits, prayer, and time spent together.

We will spend intentional time with students, families, church members, pastors, teachers, and community leaders—listening to their stories, sharing our own, and building friendships centered around Jesus.

“Love one another deeply, from the heart.”  — 1 Peter 1:22

SUPPORT - Our role is to encourage and strengthen the ministries already making an impact.

Whether encouraging Hope Church Kibera, mentoring students at New Hope Academy, visiting families, or participating in outreach opportunities, we come alongside our partners and help strengthen the work God is already doing. We measure success by whether our partners feel encouraged, loved, and strengthened after our time together.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”  — Galatians 6:2
