We are so pumped that you have an interest in serving in Metro’s Creative Social Media Team! Social media is such a huge part of our culture today, and its growing and growing every day. We believe that social media, with the right strategies, can connect people with our church and ultimately help them take their next steps toward Jesus.
Social media is more than just cute photos and likes, it’s a way to engage our world and create a platform where we celebrate what God is doing in our church and in people. We believe with your creative ability, combined with your love for our church and Jesus, you can help Metro fulfill our its vision: to develop full devoted followers of Jesus.

To tell the Story of MCC through our social media platforms. How do we do this? By connecting people to MCC through quality content that draws them in.

"WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO SERVE ON THE SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM?"
Serving in MCC social media is unique. We have the challenge and opportunity to celebrate whats going on at Metro in literally a couple seconds of a window. This means weekend experiences, church wide events such as VBS, worship nights, holiday/seasonal events.. and more. It is our job to cover these events & connect people with our church.
"DO I HAVE TO BE AT CHURCH EVERY SINGLE WEEK?"
No, but you should be here most Sundays. If you are out of town, or on vacation that’s great! If you have a family thing, that’s great. We do need you to be present as much as possible though, so unless there are circumstances that make it difficult to attend, please be there.
"DO I HAVE TO BE AT EVERY CHURCH WIDE EVENT?"
99% of them yes! If you can’t make it.. That’s okay, but we have to make sure as a team we are covering these events and connecting them with Social Media. For clarity, these events are CHURCH WIDE, such as, Nights of Worship, Good Friday, Trunk or Treat, Christmas Season, Labor Day Weekend, Baptisms, and others.
"IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?"
There will be a monthly meeting for us to touch base and connect! These meetings will be strategic & we will evaluate progress. We will communicate via phone call and text messaging (group chat) weekly to gear up for the weekend/events. You will be serving on the weekends, but you must also sit in a service and worship. We want you to serve and grow!
This team is a commitment.. We want you to be all in! Our roles are very unique since we cover the life of our church in so many ways. Your role on the social media team will probably look different than someone else, we all have a role that serves the team in a specific way.
"WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT ABOUT MY NEXT STEPS?"
You will be trained in all things social media, but you role on a given weekend or event may change, so being flexible is apart of the game. You may be editing photos on the cloud one week and sending to others to post and write content, or you may manage the photographers and making sure we are getting content for the day. Maybe you will be getting video footage for stories. All in all, get use to staying on your toes. We want you to know how to do everything so if we need to switch things up, the system won't be compromised.
You should also expect to be challenged to think creatively and critically. We want to continue to get better and grow as a team, while serving our church in excellence. This is a team, we all work hand in hand making this thing go!
